Today:- June – The eighth lecture of the series, under the landmark exhibition, ‘India and the World: A History in Nine Stories”, titled “Indian Ocean Traders (250-1650 CE)” by Prof. Himanshu Prabha Ray would highlight the beginnings of maritime networks in the early centuries of the Common Era; the spread of languages and writing, and geographical knowledge of the seas; the organization of trade in the pre-modern period and close association between trading groups and religious centers.

National Museum, invites you to the lecture at the Auditorium, National Museum, Janpath, New Delhi on Friday, June 8, at 6:00 pm.

About the Speaker : Prof. Himanshu Prabha Ray is recipient of the Anneliese Maier research award of the Humboldt Foundation (2013 – 2018) and Member of the Board of the Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies, Oxford.
