Red Roses Public School, Saket Was declared a ‘Tobacco Free’ school by the Heath department

Today:- July – Red Roses Public School, Saket Was declared a ‘Tobacco Free’ school by the Heath department (Delhi State Tobacco Control Cell) as complying with all the requirements after successful visit of a team from ten members from the National Alcohol and Tobacco Authority of Sri Lanka, at the initiative of additional director health. The delegates were impressed to see the steps taken by the management in ensuring the eradication of nicotine and related harmful tobacco products. Their attention was drawn to areas like the school gate/guard room, reception, storage and parking area, corridors, playground, staircases and toilets. Signboards for ‘No Smoking and Chewing Tobacco’ were displayed for general awareness. They were told that police assistance had been sought to ensure that no vendors were seen with in 100 m of the school radius. The programme is regularly monitored through its committee of teachers, students and parent representatives. Recently, ‘UN International Day of Drug Abuse’ was celebrated with week–Long activities highlighting harmful effects of consuming tobacco through talk show, street play and videos.
