Today:-When you hold a book in your hand and touch it to feel the texture by turning its page, you get a kind of confidence that this book belongs to you. It is almost like talking to a friend sitting beside him or her and saying something by touching and holding his or her hand .Talking to a friend on phone or on camera from distance cannot give the same feeling, may be the same reason for decreasing demand and popularity of e- books .
Five years ago all publishers and printing technology was seized by collective panic over the uncertain future of print. As readers migrated to new digital devices, e- book sales soared up 1,269% between 2008 and 2010. Print sale minimized, bookstores struggled to stay open and publishers and authors feared cheaper e- books would smashed their business.
There was a prediction that e-books would overtake print by 2015 but the fact is digital sales have instead slowed sharply, with signs that some e- book adopters are returning to print. E- book sales fell by 10% in the first five months of this year, according to Association of American Publishers.
The ball again is going in the hand of print from digital . Many e-book subscription services have shut down .
The most surprising and interesting fact is, most of the youngsters still prefer reading on paper.
