Today:- If you think you are not intelligent enough to understand Maths , its not your fault. If you think why don’t you find Maths interesting once again its not your fault. Its your parents fault. When you were a small kid, your mother used to tell herself walking in the room ‘ oh I never liked Maths, I always found it very difficult, I really hate that subject.’ These sentences which you frequently used to hear in your childhood, when you were busy doing your homework made a negative impact on your mind. When you were solving your Math question at your home may be your mother was saying ,’I don’t know how will he cope up in this subject’.
The anxiety of your mother may be fixed in your subconscious and you started to avoid this subject and Gradually, you also made your mindset against Mathematics.
You are convinced that Mathematics can’t be an interesting subject and hence difficult to understand. So, you too started to hate this subject and your mark sheet got red at this subject every year.
A study has proved the connection between mother’s anxiety about Maths and children’s low marks in the subject.
According to a new study, your parents’ math anxiety may have rubbed off on you. Sian Beilock , a psychologist scientist at the University of Chicago, said in a statement that parents disliking about Mathematic and telling their children that they don’t like Mathematic, kids pick up on this messaging and it affects their success. The study , published in the Journal Psychological Science , about the deep connection between parents own attitudes and their children academic achievement.
